For the first time, a unique dementia conference for relatives and professionals will be held in Frederiksberg, Denmark, on September 21, 2017, on the occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day. Nurse May Bjerre Eiby, founder of the special nursing home Dagmarsminde for citizens suffering from dementia, gathers an exclusive group of both Danish and international speakers for this inspiring and invigorating event.
By joining this event, you can meet the American author and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, Dr. Allen Power, whose groundbreaking work to reduce the use of psychotropic drugs at the American Eden Alternative® nursing homes has echoed around the world. The Norwegian nurse and professor emerita, Kari Martinsen, will give her views on how slowness and presence is key to the meeting between patients, carers and relatives.
Danish Lifestyle and Consumer Expert Christine Feldthaus gives the participants a lot to think about when she portraits the new elderly generations that will not be described as a burden to society when they reach retirement age. The conference ends with a meditative concert as the acclaimed songwriter Sara Grabow invites you to be part of her project called “EneRum”, which explores how music, song and contemplation affect our senses.
