The regional hospital in Horsens, in the Central Denmark Region, has inaugurated a new emergency ward to help prepare for the future.

In Horsens, Central Denmark Region, a new expanded and modernized emergency ward extends the size of the existing ward to give the patients a quicker, more competent and coherent treatment. The 800 m2 extension has been the first step towards making the emergency ward futureproof, as it is equipped with all the modern facilities for quick reception and diagnosis of acute patients.

The expansion contains three new trauma wards, a de-contamination room, four patient rooms, its own laboratory and EKG-function, as well as a 24-hour diagnostic imaging unit containing ultrasound, x-ray and a CT-scanner.

The expansion of the regional hospital in Horsens has been the first of two big expansion plans, which the Regional Council has approved and financed. The second stage of the expansion is expected to be completed by 2021.
