On August 22-23, 2017, a delegation of policy makers on governmental level from the Malaysian Ministry of Health visited Copenhagen, Denmark, to find inspiration and learn from the Danish approach to building new hospitals as well as the experiences in implementing innovative logistics and eHealth solutions.
The delegates started their trip by visiting the Danish Ministry of Health for an introduction to the organization of the Danish healthcare system, and the Danish approach to prevention and management of chronic diseases.
During their first day in Copenhagen, the delegates also visited the Danish Health Data Authority to learn more about the Danish health data program and communications technology. A visit to Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital demonstrated to the Malaysian delegation how Denmark actively works to implement innovative logistic solutions as part of the process for building new hospitals. The visit to the hospital included a guided tour at the construction site.
On their second day, the delegates visited Center for Diabetes in the Municipality of Copenhagen for an introduction to health and prevention on municipal and community level. The visit to Center for Diabetes included a guided tour of the facilities. At the request of the Malaysian delegation, the program was completed with a site visit to Langgadehus Nursing Home to experience innovative assisted living technologies in practice.
