Nykøbing Falster Hospital is part of Region Zealand's hospital service. Nykøbing Falster Hospital is the region's largest employer with more than 17,000 employees and a budget of DKK 17 billion. We provide solutions in health, psychiatry and regional development, and operate a number of social institutions. In collaboration with Imatis (the supplier) and Roskilde University, Nykøbing Falster Hospital has developed a unique IT system that allows the monitoring and quality assurance of patient care during the course of their treatment at the hospital.
The system can be used on all platforms from standard PCs to large touch screens and mobile devices such as smartphones.
The new tool is flexible, allowing hospital staff to easily develop the necessary screen displays with patient data, supporting the flexibility and quality of the treatment. The system shows the current status of the process from department to department and notifies the person responsible for the treatment if, for example, new test results require immediate action.
In the space of just a few clicks, the staff can proceed from important patient data to the registration systems, and this overview ensures better use of capacity and facilitates the referral of patients from one department to another. The system helps reduce the number of delays, and also reduces the number of phone calls and "footsteps down corridors".
Finally, the easier access to current data provides better options when staff have to inform patients and their families about the process.
