The life science industry in Denmark has experienced substantial growth, with goods exports tripling since 2008 and reaching DKK 151 billion in 2020. It is now one of Denmark's largest export industries, and there is potential for further growth, with projected exports of DKK 345 billion in 2030. The industry has also made progress in the green transition, reducing greenhouse gas emissions while experiencing significant value-added growth. Moreover, the life science industry in Denmark is research-intensive, relies on knowledge, and employs around 50,000 people, mainly in pharmaceuticals and biotech.
